El Centro began in the early 2000’s when a group of community members came together to recognize the value of Hispanic Americans to our community. El Centro has been the only primarily Hispanic serving organization in Transylvania county for its entire existence. Being the only non-profit where a Spanish speaker always answers the phone lends us the unique ability to connect our families to the broader community, while we work to increase English language literacy and equity in Transylvania County.

Homework Club
El Centro's Homework Club assists elementary school Hispanic children in their academic development through the help of tutors who work closely with teachers and parents.
Club Accion
Club Accion is a program to offer a connection between college students and the community to work on completion of academic work and tutoring.
Bilingual Club
Bilingual Club is a space for students to come after school to gain experience in Translation and Interpretation, as well as socialize, garden, and learn!
